David Neutel was born in Mozambique in 1973, and still quite young comes to Portugal where he grew up. At the age of 8 he began to study organ and a few years later began his piano studies at the conservatory of music. Devoted 6 years to the study of classical piano feeling the need to broaden the harmonic, melodic, rhythmic horizons, enrolls in the jazz school of lisbon where in the following years studies not only piano but also composition, orchestral direction, harmony and improvisation. Service to God in the church has always been present from an early age, playing in worship and conducting choirs and soloists. At the age of 19 he becomes a full time musician, playing for various national artists and producing music for television. In 1992 decided to embrace the call of God to his life and studied at the Bible Institute Word of life, where he studied theology but also music with the missionaries music directors of the institute. Between 1992 and 1993 David studied choir direction with Professor Debbie Rothstein and music production with Ullie Rothstein.
In 1994, he was invited to work as music director of the Jubilee Church in Setúbal, a city near Lisbon, at the time one of the largest churches in Portugal. For the next 10 years his work together with the ministerial team becomes a reference in Europe developing a school of music and training worship leaders from Portugal, Brasil, Spain, Africa.
In 1999, after two years of dating, he married his wife Ana Margarida, where after 20 years he has two children, 16-year-old Tiago and 11-year-old Maria.
In 2001 he headed to the United States where he studied recording engineering and music production at Integrity music in Alabama. Studies with Chuck Harris, Paul Mills (Grammy Award by Twila Parish and Alvin Slaughter). He finishes his studies and returns to Portugal where he works and travels with UK pastor and songwriter Chris Bowater as music director. In 2008 he is invited to be the music director of the World Congress of Assemblies of God. Conducts a band with over 25 elements and a 500-voice choir with several praise leaders among them Ron Kenoly ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J2tFl57T6HY ).
In 2009 he was invited to music director of the Assembly of God church in Almada and also director of the ACEDA art school. In 2016 travels to England at the invitation of the directors of Alpha Records (the oldest Christian publisher in the world) and FlyWorship to restructure the label, coordinate the construction of the new recording studio, take care of music and artistic production and content development. FlyWorship. Produces the first project for Alpha Records called Promise by composer Marc James. This album becomes a hit on Uk and at the end of 2016 is considered by Christian magazine Louder than the music as one of the best albums of the year. Qualifications and Skills:
Diploma degree in music and ministry by Word of Life Bible Institute
Diploma in music direction, orchestration, advanced harmony, choir conduction
Diploma both in Jazz Piano and classical Piano
25 years experience as a music director/worship pastor
Recording engineer diploma by Integrity music
3 Languages - English, Portuguese and Spanish
Ability to play acoustic guitar and lead music in a worship setting
Ability to develop multitracks and click tracks for Worship services
Ability to develop full music arrengements for a small band or a full band with Choir
Knowledge of music of various genres (including traditional hymns, praise choruses, contemporary and inspirational Christian music, gospel, and other appropriate music for the worship context setting)
Knowledge of traditional elements of worship (including parts of a worship service, the liturgical seasons, etc.)
Familiarity with CCLI and/or other licensing services
Spiritual gifts: servanthood, leadership, administration
